Objectives of the college
On completion of the course,the graduates are expected to:

  • Participate with other health team members in rendering promotive,preventive and restorative health care delivery.
  • Demonstrate skills in teaching and supervising nursing care.
  • Illustrative leadership qualities and decision making abilities in various situations.
  • Advance without further formal education to the changing health needs of the community.
  • To provide comprehensive nursing care and save life and relive suffering of the sick.
  • To train nurses on par with inernational standards to facilitate them to take up jobs in U.S.A,U.K etc.

Course & Eligibility Criteria

Diploma in Nursing (GNM) Duration 3 1/2 Years

Age Limit: 17 to 35 years

Eligibility: 10+2 (PUC II) Science

Percentage: General 45% SC./ST. 40%

Admission Procedure The prospectus can be obtained on payment either by cash or by DD in favour of The Principal, respective nursing institute. The duly filled application forms, the original and duplicate to be returned to the Principal along with the following, certificates on or before (date will be informed time to time).

  • Attested true copies of marks list of SSLC I PUC I PDC I examinations.
  • Conduct certificate from the Principal of the School/ College last attended.
  • Five copies of recent color passport size photographs
  • A covering letter in the candidates own handwriting.
  • Copy of undertaking duly signed (last sheet of the Self-addressed post card).

Selection
The application will be scrutinized by the selection committee on the basis of merit.

Fees
Tuition, Hostel, Mess and other fees connected to training are fixed by the institution from time to time and are payable on semester/monthly basis. To avoid penalty, students need to clear all the dues within the specified time. Default in timely settlement of dues may result in disciplinary action from the rules of the institution.

Educational Loan
Institute has been approved for educational loans from nationalized banks for the students who get admission to this institute. All those Students who get admitted to any of these institutions can approach nationalized banks for educational loan, if at all required.

The institute of nursing provides clinical facilities to the students in our own parent hospital Prayavi Hospital & Research Center a 150 + Bedded District Hospital in BIDAR.

Physical Facilities

Lecture Halls

The lecture halls are spacious, well ventilated and equipped with visual aids to enable effective teaching and learning. Seating facilities are provided keeping in mind the comfort of students.

Library

Our library is well equipped with e-mail and internet facilities along with 5000 various professional books, medical journals (Indian and Foreign journals), magazines, periodicals and newspapers in both English and other regional languages. The library is constantly updated with best large collections of audio visual aids, in the form of slides, videos, audio cassettes and CD’s. We are subscribing 306 e journals and 46 e-Books through online by HELINET Consortium. HELINET is a Networking concept. It stands for Health Science Library and information Network. The concept is adopted by RGUHS in 2001 to network all health science libraries under its affiliations and develop a consortium for resource sharing.

Hostel

Students are required to stay in the hostel attached to the institution. Separate facilities are available for male and Female students. Mess facility is available in hostel. A modern and clean kitchen system supervised by experienced catering persons to meet the need and as per the taste of students is arranged. Water is provided 24hrs a day. Hostel has indoor, outdoor games and recreation facilities.

Hospitals

The institute of Nursing provides clinical facilities to the students in PARYAVI HOSPITAL, Bidar. This 150+ bedded hospital provides sufficient experience to our students in the field of medicine and surgery. The hospital is well equipped with modern instruments for the diagnostic, therapeutic and rehabilitative purposes. Our students are also provided Rural as well as Urban community exposure in the Primary Health Centers of Karnataka.

All the labs are well equipped with necessary infrastructure, dummies, and models for the students to acquire practical skill. We have following labs:

Health Programmes

Before admission, selected candidates will have to undergo a thorough medical examination in this institution at their own cost. Any candidate found to be medically unfit would not be admitted to the course.

Extra Curricular Activities

NSS, Indian youth Red Cross, Student Nurses Association Camps, Educational Tour, Histrionics, Music, Dance, Indoor, Outdoor games and sports.

Transportation

College provides 50 seats and 35 seated buses for the transportation of the students. A Maruti Omini van is available 24hrs for students in case of any medical emergency. The students are exposed to rural and urban areas as prescribed by the KNC and INC syllabus. Every Year the students will be posted to the hospital where the students are given practical hands on experience and are having the privilege of serving people of all walks of life especially from the unemployed and the weaker section. The hospital is 150+ bedded having all medical, surgical pediatric & other speciality departments with good infrastructure.
